BenDetta Dickerson, DVM graduated from Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 1996. She wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 8 years old. She comes from a background of small animal medicine with an emphasis in both exotic animals and pocket pets.
Although BenDetta was born in Stamford, CT, she lived in Seattle for most of her life and is the oldest of four children. She graduated from Cleveland High School and has worked in veterinary medicine off and on since she was 17 years old. She has worked at both daytime practices and at an emergency clinic. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from WSU. She did, however, take a break from veterinary medicine to work in the legal field. She worked in both litigation and bankruptcy before applying to veterinary school.
Her two large dogs and geriatric cat take up most of her spare time. She enjoys reading mysteries, cooking, and watching her favorite show ("Monk") on television. She is also in the process of writing a cookbook.

Kathryn West,
DVM
is a graduate of the University
of Florida,
College
of Veterinary Medicine.
She has been practicing for over
15 years, and here in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area since
1996.
Her practice experience includes
small animals, rabbits, ferrets and other pocket pets, as well
as reptiles and other non-traditional pets.
A native of the Pacific
Northwest, she attended Oregon
State
University,
receiving a Bachelor and Master degree there before moving to
Florida.
She loved the sun and great
southern food in Florida,
but missed the mountains and the seasons here, so she moved
back to the West Coast after graduation.
When not working,
she likes to garden and hike, but when the weather is bad,
reading and spending time with her geriatric pets is a close
second.
For the last 10 years, she has
volunteered at Woodland Park Zoo and has been active in
conservation work around the world.
Traveling to conservation
hot-spots has allowed her to see the world in a different way
than most tourists and she is always looking forward to the
next adventure.
